About KQ8M

I was first licensed in 1971 as WN8JSQ. One year later I passed my general test and became WB8JSQ which I held until 1981. September 23, 1974 I entered the United States Marine Corps where I spent my 4 year tour as an aircraft electrician on A6a and later A6e attack bombers. In the summer of 1981 I passed the advanced and extra tests. I applied for a new callsign and received the call KQ8M on my birthday, Sept. 1, 1981. I was always very interested in DX but not so much as after 1980. I was very active in DXing and contesting; operating at the K8AZ superstation here in multi op and single op efforts. I am a chartered member of North Coast Contesters (NCC). In 1994 I went off the air due to personal problems. At that time I had all active DXCC countries confirmed. I was off the air until March of 2007. In that time period a number of new countries were added to the DXCC list and I was dropped from the honor roll. Now I have to fight my way back again. If you hear me on the air, stop by and say hi.

Thanks

I would like to thank those stations and managers who have helped me get some old contacts QSL'd. Some are 25+ years old. Thanks guys and gals.
